Measurable Results for Arizona Families
Since our founding in 2014, Arizona Healthcare Coverage has worked to close the coverage gap in Maricopa and Pima counties through free enrollment assistance, community education, and policy advocacy. Every number below represents a real Arizonan or family who gained access to healthcare they could afford.
Enrollment Outcomes by Program (FY 2025–2026)
ACA Marketplace Enrollments
Individuals and families enrolled in qualified health plans through Healthcare.gov during the 2025–2026 plan year. Of these, 89% qualified for Premium Tax Credits, with an average monthly subsidy of $412 per household. Silver-tier plans with Cost-Sharing Reductions accounted for 62% of all Marketplace enrollments, reflecting our counselors’ emphasis on maximizing value for households below 250% FPL.
AHCCCS Applications Processed
AHCCCS applications submitted through Health-e-Arizona Plus, with a 91% approval rate on first submission. Our pre-screening process ensures that documentation is complete and income verification is accurate before submission, minimizing delays and denials. Average time from initial consultation to AHCCCS approval was 18 calendar days.
KidsCare Enrollments
Children enrolled in Arizona’s KidsCare (CHIP) program, representing 312 families across Maricopa and Pima counties. Our community outreach identified families who were eligible for KidsCare but had not applied, often due to language barriers, documentation concerns, or lack of awareness about the program’s existence and affordability.
Medicare Navigation Sessions
One-on-one Medicare counseling sessions conducted in partnership with the Arizona SHIP program. We assisted 620 seniors and individuals with disabilities in comparing Medicare Advantage plans, selecting Part D prescription drug coverage, and screening for Medicare Savings Programs and Extra Help eligibility.
Community Education & Outreach
Beyond individual enrollment assistance, Arizona Healthcare Coverage invests in community-level health literacy to ensure Arizonans understand their coverage options before enrollment periods begin.
Health Fairs & Pop-Up Clinics
On-site enrollment events at community centers, libraries, food banks, and houses of worship across Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa, Chandler, and Glendale.
Employer Group Workshops
Educational sessions for small businesses, seasonal employers, and gig economy worker organizations explaining coverage options for employees without employer-sponsored insurance.
Spanish-Language Enrollment Drives
Bilingual enrollment events specifically designed for Spanish-speaking communities, held in partnership with Latino community organizations, churches, and cultural centers.
Funding & Partnerships
Arizona Healthcare Coverage is funded through a combination of federal CMS Navigator grants, the Vitalyst Health Foundation, Arizona Blue Cross Blue Shield Community Partnership Fund, Maricopa County Community Health Improvement grant funding, and individual charitable contributions. Our organization does not receive commissions from insurance carriers, does not sell insurance products, and maintains strict independence in all enrollment counseling.
We are grateful to our funding partners and community collaborators who make this work possible. Financial disclosures and our most recent IRS Form 990 are available upon request.
